We’ve partnered with innovative hiring platform Applied to help you find the best candidates for your jobs in the most inclusive way. Join this briefing to learn more about our Bankside Recruitment Pioneers project, how to get involved and the difference it will make.
Any business interested in finding out more about de-biasing recruitment is welcome to join this event. Attendees will get a full understanding of what’s involved and the benefits for participating. There will also be plenty of time for questions.
We’ll hear from this panel:
- Applied will explain the aims of their platform and how it works to reduce bias in traditional recruitment practices
- A local business already using the platform will share the difference using the platform has made to their business
- Southwark Council will share the barriers Southwark residents report in accessing employment opportunities
Biased and broken: is this the end of the CV?
There are so many types of biases that creep into traditional recruitment methods, even with our best intentions. Changing the recruitment process to stop both implicit and unconscious bias is a vital step in creating a fair and diverse workforce.
Despite all the work done to raise awareness of unconscious bias, to change parts of the recruitment process like using ‘blind recruitment’, access to employment opportunities for under-represented groups has barely changed over the past 20 years. Someone with a non-white sounding name must send 70% more CVs to achieve the same interview rate as an equally qualified candidate with a white-sounding name.
Join our Recruitment Pioneers project and become one of ten Better Bankside members to use the Applied hiring platform for free for 12 months.
Let’s work together to remove barriers and biases and help Bankside businesses reach new talent.
