Can your business help Borough Academy students learn about the world of work?
Local secondary school, Haberdashers’ Borough Academy, is looking for local businesses to offer work experience placements for their Year 10 students this summer.
Borough Academy opened in September 2019 to its first cohort of students. That first year group are now in Year 10, studying hard before they take their GCSEs next year. This summer, every Year 10 student needs to complete a work experience placement, giving them an insight into what work is really like and helping them learn about the skills needed to succeed.
Can your business help? Better Bankside is working with the school to help find local opportunities for the students, who are all aged 14-15 years old. All work experience placements will take place in the week of 17th July, and can last for three to five days. Work experience can include shadowing people at meetings, helping with admin tasks, or for larger groups, taking part in workshops and careers talks by your team members.
If your business has capacity to host one or two students this July, or even a small group, please get in touch with Rachel Nicholson, Responsible Business & Inclusion Manager at Better Bankside, who can tell you more about what’s involved.
