With only one week left to donate to ensure the gifts reach the individuals by Christmas, businesses are being asked to make their donations sooner rather than later to local charities that need support. The Better Bankside Christmas wish list system, curated by each of the charities, ensures donations are specific to the needs of the individuals the charities support. Lists that currently urgently need donations are:

  • Blackfriars Settlement Positive Ageing Service – a day centre service providing support and social activities for 235 local older people. Wish List: 3% complete
  • Blackfriars Settlement Mental Health & Wellbeing Service groups, activities and one-to-one support helping 95 people who are facing mental health challenges in the community. Wish List: 16% complete
  • Lucy Brown Housea sheltered housing service provided by Southwark Council for 39 older local residents. Wish List: 24% complete
  • The Manna Society – a day centre for homeless people and those in need, providing hot meals, hot showers and housing and welfare advice to around 160 people every day.  Wish List: 2% complete

All you need to do is choose an organisation to support, visit their wish list and then decide which gift item (or items) you’d like to donate.

For more information, visit the Bankside Christmas Gift Appeal.

Thanks so much to all those who have donated already.
